Steamed Cabbage
I can't call this a recipe, but it is really easy to make cabbage at home to pair with a protein source and noodles! I highly recommend getting a steamer basket. I use my Ninja Neverstick PossiblePan. For my next American takeout at home, I will do a super greens blend and add broccoli and kale to the mix! Adding more greens will give that American takeout feel like a Panda Express.

Chop your cabbage into smaller pieces, then fill your pan with an inch or two of water, and then place the steaming basket on top. Heat the pan to medium-high and add the cabbage. Season heavily with garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cover with a lid.
Steam for 10-15 minutes, or until your desired crunchiness is reached. Pay attention because once I let all the water evaporate from the pan! This is so easy and pairs really well with rice noodles and orange chicken. You can start boiling your water for noodles as your cabbage cooks.
Stir Fry Rice Noodles For American Takeout
Another very simple "recipe." Takes 4 ingredients to put this side dish together! You can use a griddle, a large pan, or a wok to stir-fry the noodles. I used a wok! This version is very simple, so I didn't add any garlic, onion, or bell peppers. Feel free to add produce or any toppings to the noodles once you stir-fry them.
The brand I use for noodles and sauce is Thai Kitchen! I follow the directions on the back of the box. I boil the noodles for 6 minutes, then transfer them to a colander and rinse them in cold water. Right before I start rinsing the noodles, I add a few tablespoons of olive oil to my wok on medium heat. I shake the noodles to remove excess liquid. I add the noodles to the wok, then add soy sauce for taste and color. Now I eyeball the amount, so about 5-6 shakes if that makes sense. I use tongs to mix everything. I follow the soy sauce up with 4-6 servings of the Pad Thai sauce. It has a little kick and sweetness. It's really good. I stir-fry everything for a few minutes to heat the noodles and combine the sauce. That's it. Very straightforward and takes minimal effort and cooking skills to make.

Now you have two simple sides to serve with your protein of choice! For the most part, I'm pairing the cabbage and noodles with orange chicken.

Orange Chicken Recipe
Over 1,300 visits on this listening! One of my most popular recipes for sure. I have two versions! You can air-fry or shallow/deep-fry your chicken! Another simple recipe. In my next version, I will make the sauce from scratch! The end goal is to stop having fast food and take-out every day and week, so occasionally I will use a store-bought sauce for budget and convenience.
